Counting CV joint splines?

Okay need 2 new cv joints on my 97 Glanza. What all do I need to remove to count the splines and see if its 23/30 or 30/30?

If you remove the driveshaft from the Hub (deep 30mm socket required) you can count from there.

so:
1. jack up safely
2. remove wheel
3. someone press brake pedal while you crack the 30mm nut
4. count the splines

may have missed out somethin, at work and not really had time to think through properly
