Port it so much?

Would the wastegate flap even seal properly when shut if I ported it that big?

porting wont do much as its gone past where it would be ported so it will still leak

mind you you may get away with welding and porting as the major part of the crack will be ground off.

honest ct9's are cheap and id rather get another then have to remove everything again

Thanks guys. I have asked the seller for a refund, just got to see what he says as it was described as 'mint' when I bought it.

Might just get a Hybrid..

best thing you can do mate is to try it and see if it is holding boost ok then if not get it welded j:)
ps mine has a crack just like that and still pulls strong so should be fine

you have another option that is not so common on a ct9.. weld it including the waste gate and use an external waste gate...

or as for part of what you paid for a minter!! you can weld the nasty crack so welding fills the crack and port it again to the same size. OR open the turbo so you remove the exhaust housing and weld it from the other side of the crack :)

Jam, was your crack all the way through as well?

Sheldon I've got a screamer pipe for the internal wastegate now, can't be arsed selling that then buying a different manifold etc, plus the costs of a Tial wastegate!!

No it was on the forum mate. Seller is a top guy, hands down. :) The Cat was still fitted when I bought it, so I'm guessing he never knew about the crack.

Yes it's very common to see one as bad as that. you could give it a touch of a weld if that would ease your mind about it but may not be necessary

Thats exactly how mine was when I took it off to get the wastegate ported.

Got it ported, slapped it back on and worked fine.

No problems at all with a crack like that on mine.
