Ct9 tongs hybrid/external wastegate benefits

right peeps, just wanting too know if theres any benefits from using a external wastegate setup for my tongs hybrid?

will there be any performance gains?
is it worth it?

an what will i need too have done too change it from internal.

sorry if its been covered before 1 million times. just cant find what i wanna know.

you will need the wastegate welded shut on the turbo or a bracket made a mani with a external wastegate
from what i understand it holds boost better i will be useing a td12 external wastegate set up on my v soon

what he said ^, weld the internal WG shut and buy a externally gated manifold, holds boost better. i'd go for it.

you wont gain anything exactly, but you will have more controllable,consistent boost.

safer for the engine as creep can cause a bang if it goes too high.

i would make a bracket to hold the wastegate shut and then weld it. double security then.

Ive just bought a ext wastgate and mani for my TD04 ... im having it mapped soon to about 1.3/1.4 bar ... i was told that anything over 1.2bar int wastegates arent much cop!

Id rather spend £500 on new mani etc than pay £2000 to have it forged again.

Hi mate am running a tongs hybrid gt spec 2 welded shut with a zisco ramhorn external wastegate with tial wastegate with a bar spring with screamer n it's insane noice n power not dyno till next year but it spools up very quick hits a bar of boost by 2800 rpm and holds to the limiter but not noticed power difference as I ran a blitz k1 before but when I get dyno will put it up
