Daihatsu Mira Avanzato TRXX R4

having a quick look into these - IG 6 - so rather cheap insurance 660cc engine (similar size to fule injectors then? lol) and produces just over 60bhp, and 0-60 in just under 8 seconds.

The R4 has LSD as standard (didnt see this bit in original post) MPG wise, for a turbo this is too, anywhere between 38 and 53 can be achieved - average around 42mpg.

Never heard of them, but they are a really cool car!! Someone quted on this website, ideal for a woman.....

Good luck with the sale bud - these are very rare cars in deed.

the gtti does not have forged internals. lol

Yes. It does.

The GTti only has that because its a homoglamation car, so its basically the same car as the group N rally car. The GTti was billed as "an 9k engine in an 11k car.

So yes the charade GTti has forged rods and pistons as standard, hencewhy you can run 1.5bar plus on them and you cant buy aftermarket forgies...

Ask GTti on here if your unsure :)

Indeed they're a fully forged semi quenched piston in the GTti (CB80) engine. Mike from Camskill had sent these off for confirmation many years ago. The standards rods are equally well made, the rally cars competing in the lombard rally in 1989/90 had the limiters removed and were revving well past 8k to stop the drivers hitting the limiter.

The only problems I know of them having is the amount of torque being put through the gearboxes.

It mighthave forged pistons to cope with 1.5 Bar but its not got a proper forged engine that can cope with 2 Bar Boost and a bigger turbo, etc...

I'm not sure what part of forged internals doesn't make a 'proper' forged engine?

Considering my GTxx is running 22psi (Well actually 25 according to microtech software) with stock internals and head gasket for the last 10,000 miles on a hybrid turbo.

They're more than up for the job of handling 2Bar, there's a handfull of people whom are running more.

Alright mate, my good friend is a charade enthusiast and was one of the 1st people in the uk to have a charade with a fmic and this was years back now.
I know that standard these cars aren't that bad. His was running a hybrid and he had been through four engines, so i know there not that strong standard, max power he had was 180ish and it was very unreliable even he tells me,although pretty quick, there more reliable upto 160hp ish.

I have looked into these cars time and time again.

I can only disagree with you.

Running a hybrid just doesn't cut it, what modifications did his car have? I run a Microtech ECU, modified head, 270 duration cams, hybrid turbo, 510cc injectors, paddle clutch and this is close to 180hp and has been for some time without any problems.

I've got two of these cars and one GT, but I have to agree in one sense, they're reliable to 180bhp if they're well maintained - mine certainly is. The key to these cars is rich AFRs, sounds like your friend went through four engines to find that out.

From a power output perspective 80-100% (Or more = AkisGTti's 255hp) percent performance increase, these are just as reliable and impressive as a high powered 4EFTE. Perhaps more impressive being over 20 years old and missing a cylinder.

A member recieved a email recently from a guy whom used to work for Daihatsu, apparently an F1 team of the era purchased 3 CB80 engines for development. They were told that briefly over 900bhp was produced. No real evidence to back this up though, interesting.
