decat/screamer... my new tractor

sound so fitted a few mods this weekend:

toyosport manifold
decat screamer pipe

when i fire it up it is pretty lout, sounds like i dont have an exhaust.

my idea of the screamer was it was just raspy under boost and quiet on tick over as technically the wastegate would be closed and no gas's will be let out that side till it was opened under boost?

am i going to need to weld a motorbike exhaust on the end of it to keep it down and give it a better tone?

its the gasses from the turbo proppeler that push past the bracket on the decat its not a uniform seal !!!!! neads a new bracket welding on thets extremely tight then the noise will go down a bit

i think best way would be to weld in a plate in the turbo to split the wastegate side from exhaust side and then cut off the extra bit off the screamer and make um a new gasket for the decat which would split the wastegate side from exhaust and seal perfectly

as a temp solution i have ground out the center of the screamer and welded the end of it.

now the car seems to not come on to boost??

is this something to do with it not escaping properly, i would of thought minimum boost would be obtained before the wastegate opens?

I wish you told me you was putting a screamer on it. Before I posted the waste gate I could have welded in that bracket for you.

Have you got any pics of what youve done so far?

yeah I didn't even think to mention it, I was under the impression the screamer would be a perfect fit. when I get yours down I will do Colin says, but wasn't worth the hassle for a temp solution :)

seeing you have a cracked oem manni in the vid i would go external mate just drill a hole in it ontop and weld a small section for a gate on it then you can weld the penny and opt to use screamer or not

crack oem.. i have a toyosport mani??

its a good idea but think ill pass, its equally as much work as I need to do without having to source and external actuator.

ha ha ya only saw the first part of the vid this morning dodgy internet seen it now :) i wouldnt weld on that toyo 1 there super thin and all seem to warp and crack fast

that roasting light you say is lambda 2 sensor or called cat temp sensor

yeh I guessed. my plan is to wait until Marco's part turns up and then ill sort the plate out so the decat sits tight in the middle, hopefully that will give me the results im looking for
