Had our wee MX5 turbo on the rollers today.We couldn't get it to go properly on high boost due to ignition problems.High boost is 1.2 bar.However we got it running pretty sweet on low boost(0.65 bar).It produced 278.7 bhp @6263 revs and 243.7 lb ft torque @5635 revs.Hopefully i'll have it running properly in high boost for the N.I rolling road day next Saturday.

all that in a wee mx-5, thats bloody mental, it weighs as much as a tin of baked beans and is just as small to.

may i ask what has been done to that engine (other than turbo) as i have a mate who complaing he wants to do something lairy with his 1.6 mx-5 but isnt sure what to do, to give it more poke, its just got filter and exhaust at the mo.

This one has a fully built engine with a lot of one off parts.I have a dyno chart from Japan where it produced 335 bhp.You can buy a GReedy bolt on turbo kit for a 1600cc MX5 for around £1000.I have a used turbo kit in good condition for £600.

what the hell!

Imagine what its going to produce hitting 1.2bars of boost :eek:

Should be getting in the MID 300's easily.... on the rears, Christ, sounds dangerous.
