did you drive the car with it lad how does it perform

yeah its on the car right now.
car runs fine. mild upgrade from ct9
faster spool at low boost level (spools 2k rpm @ 0.55 bar)
good power band from low to top end.
more aggressive than ct9.

so it seems a good setup well done:)

so if he just borred out the ct9 exhauts housing then i dont see the need to have the turbo balanced

he has taken the impellor off the shaft and i would have thought at the same time changed the bearings and seals.
it needs to be rebalanced.
otherwise the turbo is going to run a few miles and it will fail.

you can mark the impellors up before its stripped, but its always best to get a specialist to do it.
esspecially with the CT9-CT12 because there not a big turbo.

so if i dont take the ct12 apart then just boring out the ct9 housing to the same size as the ct 12 and putting it back together would be fine then right ??

its all intact. all bearings seals comp wheel and exhasut wheel are from ct12

looks good, can be a relatively simple job (depending) and most importantly you are happy with it....
repped

thanks for the rep. choosing turbos depends on the powerband you like and for a specific application. its a simple job. just send it to a good machine shop and have somebody to assemble it. ct12s actuator is better than c9s so youl feel the difference in the way it holds boost and the way it approaches boost. sharper than ct9
