Do i need the block notched, if im useing pec forged 4e rods??

Hay ppl i was woundering if any1 could tell me if
I need my block notched at the same time as being
bored and honed to accept PEC forged rods??

Hi john, do you know how wide they are ? i have some unknown rods and would like to know if I need to notch my block.

p.s my rods look a lot wider compared to standard

I have the sump off at the minute so I can measure them, at what point do you want to know their width?

Ive got a pic here, It looks like they get wider about 10mm above the big end. If you could tell just by looking at the pic it would be cool..

By the looks of the above coments it depends on what make rods you use.
