Does the OE ECU 'interfere' with EMB??

Im currently trying to tweak my car to get the most from it and I have a question for people who know the Emanage Blue inside out. We have tried to tweak the timing advance 3 degrees and taken out some fuelling as it was a bit safe for more power but it didnt seem to have much effect. We were not sure if the OE ECU was pulling the timing back and adding fuelling in effect countering what we were doing. When we get the dyno installed next week I will get more time to investigate but wondered what you guys thought.

Furthermore the car seems to have a noticeable flat spot in the higher gears where it does not pull as hard despite making and holding peak boost at 1.2bar on my Toy Tuning hybrid. Im wondering if going standalone would cure these issues if EMB cannot control things fully or whether it is something else causing these issues. Could it be the fact I never installed the Greddy knock sensor that supplied with the kit. Weston Performance said it was not required as the Glanzas knock sensor was not overly sensitive and would not interfere??

Any advice would be cool

It really depends on where you were making your adjustments mate, if you try to push the map too far then the oe ecu will make changes, but this is only in closed loop areas. The emb can only make large adjustments in open loop areas as the ecu doesn't control these areas as tightly. I believe this site has the ability to host map files, feel free to share and I'm sure other people will pipe in
