most of these chips are little resistors that ur got to wire into the air mass meter, telling the ecu that there's not enough air coming in so it try's to bring more air and fuel in but all it does it make the car over fuel

Works the other way. either reduces voltage leaning out the car, giving you more power and burning less gas. The Toyota chip alters the air temp, something I used to do, which alters the fueling. Colder makes it run leaner. Bottomline fucks up the car.
