Drivers Side Drive withdraw an install, How hard????

hey guys, im not wat ye call outstanding wit these sorta things because id
rather get a mechanic to do it. But with the way money is and stuff i tink its time i learned how to do it...... :D so any advice welcome.

Plus all i keep hearing when i go to a garage is i need to take out the
drive/cv to count the splines so its a must do job at home for me :D .

do you just want to count the splines to order the correct cv joint? if so you can do it very easily by just removing the cv boot. wipe away the grease a bit and then you can see the splines.

for the other end you can just get away with removing the hub nut and then counting the splines that way.

that is the easiest way of doing it so you dont have to remove too much.

Thanx Dac, with the bad weather now i tink i cud do that because i wnt be driving anywhere at all........

(isnt there just 2 cv's?? 30/23 & 30/30 ???)

23/30 and 23/23.

of all the starlets i have, i have only seen the 23/23 so i assume that is the most common size. if i was going to guess and take a gamble as to which one you have i would say its the 23/23, but its always worth checking as you never know
