Dump Valve question

HI guys
new to the world of starlet so i got lots of questions heres the first

got my starlet gt 1994 2 days ago and i love it is mechanically standard apart from a baileys venturi dump valve

1 i heard that sometimes they dont run better in fact worse with them on is this right ?

2 some people are saying to me that it sounds very slack please explain

3 all the guy has done what i can see is taken the two pipes off the original bit and put a dump valve in between should he of taken this off

please help i have no clue and need my head filling with knowledge no too fast tho please

pics would be advantagous? also yes some cars run better with a recirculating valve as it keeps the pressure in the intake but you wouldn't notice unless you were into racing a lot. As for sounding slack WTF I don't quite understand that either unless its not fitted correctly or the spring is too weak!

As above, by slack do they mean its dumping too easily/early? Or is it leaking? i.e. dumping for longer than it should. Could be the spring...can you get harder springs for a baileys??

sorry for the bad description yeah its sounds like its letting out too early can i do anything to stop this

Very nice mate..... From what i heard the Baileys DV are prone to seazing ( spelling ) up ... I had one on the old STi and had no problems but it could be your issue
