Engine issue with my glanza??

Need ideas! My starlet isnt running riight! Its ok under boost and load, its fine at idle but when you try to sit at a steady speed it coughs and bangs, jerks on and off the throttle and engine management light flashes repeatedly Im comfused :( i have checked the plugs and distributer cap and they seem to be fine. Anyone got any ideas???

Have you checked for fault codes? I think the EML light has to stay on for 30 seconds to register a code, but its worth a shot.
Failing that coils tend to give problems at specific rpms.

sounds like its missing on steady idle get your timing checked, if the timing is ok check your leads for continuity.
As AdamB said...the EML has to stay on for 30 seconds for it to register.
