engine not cranking

Hi all, just replaced a broken gearbox on my mates starlet, all back and fitted but the engine wont crank over. The King lead is in pieces although when i took my king lead out of my car it will crank but wont start. His car wont even crank with it out.

Are we looking at a new starter motor ? Battery ?

Check the connections on the starter as I've had these come off before when doing clutches

There is 2 connector on the back of it, they are both on dude,,, a little oily.

U checked for power at the starter and have u made sure all the battery earths are refitted?

FIXED,,, was a bad earth ...

although still a nackered king lead meaning its running very lumpy!
