same basic engines mate, differences being the 5e-fe has weaker con rods than the 5e-fhe and the cams arent as lairy.

If your forging its not really an issue, you can just use 4e cams too

pistons are much higher compression, rods allot stronger and cams allot more aggressive on a 5efhe.

if you want oober power forge it and just use the block and crank and throw the rest away as you wont need it anyway.

using a whole 4efte head is easier as if you put 4e cams into the 5e head or vice versa you need to re clearance everything and its a pain in the ass. and expensive to get done.

pistons are only 0.2 pts higher. Rods are stronger, cams have slightly more lift and slightly more duration. 5efhe also comes with stronger valve springs. Clearances arnt an issue. Just buy yourself a set of good vernier calipers and order the correct size shims though toyota or equivilant.

At the end of the day bottom ends are the same power wise. Once you have your Compression ratio it will either hold or not. Powers made though the head and everything you attach to it. heads are the same apart from whats been mentioned, which wont make a big difference in power.

not necessarily. what are your power aims? if you are planning on going forged then the fe will be fine as the block and crank and head are exactly the same as 5efhe (bar cams) and thats all you will be using. i dont know what prices are like over there but 5efe's are generally allot cheaper and if your going to be throwing the rest of the parts away anyway its just a waste of money to buy a fhe

If you are going to forge the engine mate then theres no difference.
As above the differ between the 2 5e engines are weaker pistons and rods which will be replaced by forged ones anyway.
