ep91 -ep82 gear box

slightly different ratios i think. lower second gear helps fat slow glanza keep up with gt- nearly

have people put ep82 gear box's in a ep91 for a replacement
or would it be worth to wait for a ep91 gearbox for sale
rep to be given for help :)

I'd wait for a ep91 box as the ratio's are different as to an ep82, if it was the other way around no probs but i'd hold off fella

Both are perfectly interchangable as far as i know.

Its 6 and half a dozen. The changes aren't noticable, slightly less top end and slightly more acceleration with a ep91 box, opposite for ep82 one :)

1st : 3.166
2nd : 1.904
3rd : 1.310
4th : 0.969
5th : 0.815
Reverse : 3.250
Differential gear ratio : 3.722

as u can see 3rd and 4th gear on the ep91 are shorter than on the ep82....thereby assisting with slightly better acceleration, but slightly lower top end speed in these two gears

people normally prefer the ep91 box....BUT when u have a VERY high powered car, the slightly longer ratios on the ep82 may come in handy


so each has their merits
