Big power is relative to your statement. Both engines are know to make 1000bhp with plenty torque.Neither is better than the next. Its just a matter of choice.

RB26 can do 600hp on stock internals.

Not sure how long for, but they are bullet proof engines.

I'd rather go in line 6 than 4 pot. Amazing engine in their era.

I doubt his going to a 1000bhp and even if he did he would be better with the N-block version because it has a stronger structure. Anything over 550bhp he will need to upgrade his fuel pump.

The 4G63 has a strong block but the RB will give a better powerband being a larger size and allow upto 500bhp or so on standard turbos.

After speaking to Mat at MG Autos who look after my Evo, his advice is not to go above 380/380 on the stock internals of the Evo 5/6. I have seen some of the guys on the MLR get 400/400 but I'm not sure how reliable they have been.

When my mate first got his evo6 he had a few minor mods and a done which seen 391bhp on standard internals. Was fucking quick too.
Dont know much about skylines but i know up this neck of the woods evos are far more common

A couple of my mates with evos have them on coilovers, one on tein super streets iirc and i cant remember the other, but they handle very well. Think they actually handle quite well as standard?
But as i said, no experience with a skyline

cheers, al depends what kind of power he want to run then really by sounds of it they both good engines etc... just the skyline maybe good for about 100hp more on standard internals, yet u will pay the extra buying it and running it.
