carmen i know and can vouch for rwd derv..he is a decent guy all he wanted was his starlet back up and running,and ye've robbed him of £350 ...i think that is bang out of order...even if 'sold as seen' you said yourself it was a runner..when obviously it wasn't ...do the decent thing and give the guy a refund...you wouldn't like it if it was done to your self...as for the 50 miles you drove,that don't mean shit as when my old engine gave up the ghost i managed to drive 60miles with it rattling like a tractor..

Both sides have good points mate, Me and Gary91 went out and get odds and ends off the car and but tbh the car was not it the best condition. Everything i have every got from Iemie (Carmen) has been fine. Sorry to say thid is just very very bad luck and poor from the last owner

i sold a lad on here a 5e and didnt check it over properly took my friends boss's word it was ok(he owns the scrap yard i bought it from)
anyway gave yer man his money back no problem just felt a dick for wastin his time he had to drive from the north to dublin twice
he never said anything about sold as seen before or whilst taking the engine out. so full of shit, millage on the clocks mean fuck all cos you even said that the engines from a gt. the car was a right shed, av put nicer things to scrap.
am having fuck all luck with this engine swap, i have now paid for 2 engines, 1 is lost in the post and this 1 is bolloxed. this engine will be put up for sale again on the sales forums, cos its not worth anything to me in the condition its in.
he seemed sound enough, i also got the steering wheel from him. but if that was me, i would easy refund atleast half of the money due to it being fucked, but he just dont want to know, i offered to take it back, but didnt want to refund the money.

Think everyone is getting a little too involved by slagging the death out the boy But he has explained the issue do leave it between them why close his thread
I bought a LSD box of ileme at the weekend got all the parts and he even threw in a set of wishbones for free so I can poly them cant really fault the boy I sold him bits he has sold me parts
As for the engine carry on should of paid thro PayPal like I do with everything these days and if u both took engine out why did u not start the car as it will run with no box and turbo i have been ripped myself but PayPal got me my money back

Thing is chris,rwdderv said that carmen did not state'sold as seen'...so do the decent thing andgive the lad his cash back.i know i wouldn't like it happening to me and i'm sure you wouldn't either,basically carmen's attitude is 'tough shit' and that ain't right,rwdderv is a decent lad and as i stated before all that he want's is his starlet up and running,this is the 2nd time the poor guy has been fucked over with a starlet engine

Yeah I think there should be a refund of some sort at least but buying a second hand engine is a gamble these days
And sold as seen is sold as seen I bought a car before and u get no come back but if he never said sold as seen then a refund should be sorted between them
Hopefully this gets resolved shortly
No point in us all going thro it in his door and calling him all the names under the sun lads
And I believe he drove it from the buyer and too and from places as he has said but if it was knocking u would know as my old engine had a rattle before abd rhen let a ring go and it was quiet for some reason strange I know

it wouldnt be to bad if he said that it was sold as seen, but he didnt. ok he drove it round for 50 miles,i drove my starlet from edinburgh to home with 4 fucked pistons (pictures on another post "think my pistons just took a sh*t")and drove it round 4 anothe 3 weeks cos i had to, but i knew there was summit wrong, and if i sold the engine i would say that its needind rebuilt, and sold it at the price of a fucked engine. but with the big ends as slack as they were its a wonder number 1 didnt come out through the side, or any of them. i couldnt get it running cos half of it was already off.
it was me and my mate that took it out, i took the box off the engine cos it was still in the car. all he did was stand and watch like a spare prick.

i could say what i think but cant be arsed to throw petrol on the fire...but this is why i dnt wna buy a 2nd hand 4efte. too many ppl about selling engines that they suspect are dogshit. if it had the odd problem maybe fair, but that engine is shagged to death and you cant say u didnt have at least a suspicion that it was fucked (not saying your a conman, but it is naughty...). a refund or at least a part refund to help with the repair bill etc should be the decent thing to do. save your reputation on this forum.
