fan belt question??

right my wei V is making a sqeeking sound when driving it i kno its coming from one of the belts so me thinking it will need tightning up the thing is will this cause the car to start up i mean it starts but struggles and the battery light comes on but it does start and it drives perfect its just the odd times so tightning the belt will solve this issue??
also since the belt may be loose it is causing it to sqeek therefore its not powering the alternator up or somthing?

yeh mine was sqeaking just tightened it slightly and it stopped sqeaking and run sound since although just have a look at the state of the belt when you do it as it may need changing, but if its slipping constantly then yes the alternator will be struggling to produce the correct amount of charge for the starter motor to operate and probs has not been charging your battery up properly either like mine did then i put aicon on and ohhh shi... you can guess the rest haha

bdw its not a fan belt but could be the alternator/water pump belt or the p/s-ac belt as those are the two belts in a 4efte, just to be clear and correct mate

And as it is the alternator belt I wouldn't drive it as it also drives the water pump and could cause some serious damage

got it all sorted today the belt powering my alternator was awei bit loose got it tightend up and jobs a good un the belt is also brand new
