fan cutting in and out at odd times!

As title says both radiator fans keep cutting in and out even when the engine is cold and not up to temperature.
The fuse box was clicking so changed around the fuses/relays but no change!
When i unplug the single sensor wire from the thermostat housing ( near the bottom rad hose) it cuts out the fan, so im guessing its the sender for the fan? So the twin wire sensor next to the top radiator hose is for?

Any body got a spare sensor or advise?
