finally got an ep82

well i got one , swapped an ep82 for my pulsar, cheaper petrol well thats the plan anyway but can you believe that the insurance is going to be more for the starlet - maybe its that torque steer.

i swapped with chap84 on here, its well specced, white toms bodykits, blitz k1, blitz fmic, ss exhaust and so more electronic bits than currys.

a quick few questions to those in the know , how can you tell the difference between a jam manifold and standard

Just check the 3rd runner and see if there is a big restriction in it. The JAM doesnt have one or at least have one as big. That device looks like a fuel computer...

this car as got everything, what do you think of the chances of it having a standard manifold, the guy i bought it off has give me a jam one (i think) but with all the stuff its got i reckon its already got one, eg blitz k1, blitz fmic, oil cooler, power fc, fueling computer under the seat and lots of other boxes which i havent got the fogiest what they do,
its just the guy i bought it off says its running rich and he has told me not to raise the boost above 0.7 cos of the manifold being restrictive but he doesnt know much about cars tbh. would you change it to be safe and then rr it or remap then rr

I dont see the use of all those gadgets on the car then it is run @ 0.7psi. and if he told you not to raise the boost over 0.7psi because of the manifold being restrictive it must be a std manifold. If u intend to leave it standard i woul remove the comp/gadget that is controlling the fuel and let it run on the std ecu im sure it will solve the too rich issue you have plus car would be faster.If u intend to modify then change manifold and boost it up to when the fuel mixture is good (preferibly on a dyno) so u will be sure of what ur doing .

standard r u kidding lol , that jam mani is going on mate, then remap 1 or 1.1 bar and rr, the guy i bought it off hadnt touched anything, it was like that when he bought it as an import, i reckon its already got a good mani on but better safe than sorry.

it is abit strange hes got all those mods and fueling and he hasnt changed the boost or manifold.

Id get that jam manifold ( it defo doesnt look like a standard one anyway) on asap and get the boost up to 1 bar and get her remapped. You'll be seeing some nice figures then.

the jam manifold shouldnt have the writing up the side like the toyota one! just incase your still trying to confirm if your mani is a jam one.

the runners are also slightly thicker.

yeah i noticed that and somebody told me there is a restriction in the 3rd runner and there was, who in toyota thought of that???????

dont mind going through the grief of changing it when you know its different - it would be a gutter if they were the same.
