finally passed the MOT but.... i still have problems !!

hi all ,

I finally sorted my cars emissions problems out ( it was the timing on the inlet cam that was out by 2 teeth :slap: ) ........

but now i have to deal with my blue smoke issues ,

only when it gets hot i start to see blue smoke in the mirror ..... now i thought it was my turbo , so i changed that for another 2nd hand one but the problem was still there. So i thought it was the valve stem oil seals but i maybe wrong . so im asking advise to see what it could be .

* the smoke doesnt appear until i use the turbo for a bit .
* there is a little oil in the inlet / intercooler pipe

this all pionts to the turbo for me , but then on the way home tonight i blew the dumpvalve pipe off and before that i noticed that in gear it was struggling to rev above 5k ( but when not in gear it revs fine )

would u say it is the turbo ? seals ? or other things like rings ??

any help would be class
( starting to do my nut in now )

i would do a compression test to see what you get, that would rule ouot stem seals nd piston rings if the readings are good.

definatley the first place to start mate

a decent garage wouldnt have to take the head off to change your valve stem seals so i would just get that done first and as someone else said do a compression test. it is also possible to get 2 smokey ct9s

ye i think i might ,

just to check , are the non turbo valve seals the same or are they different to the turbo ? i know the springs themselves are different but not sure about the seals ??

im doing a test tomorrow , but tonight when having a look round and fiddling i took off the air intake pipe ( onto the turbo ) and its full of oil !!!

so my question now is , if the valveseals were gone , would they cause oil to be pushed that way out the turbo ??

check you pcv valve and plugs see if there is oil on the plugs and check the valve to see if it flows boths ways becouse if it dose its fecked mine did the same but was pcv valve

right , i did a compression test today and i got 180 acorss all 4 . at the same time i checked the pcv vlve and it only goes 1 way .

but ... on the way into work ( 15 mile trip ) i was stuck in traffic doing about 40 all the way so i didnt boost at all and i noticed that i had no smoke ..... so im going to change my turbo tonight and ill go from there
