what size fmic should be used for a stock 4efte, plan to upgrade to a td04 in the future

depends what you mean by size, if you mean the core size, any on the market for a ep82/ep91 will suffice.

standard IC pipes will be fine, usually 63mm (2.5") but you will need a reducer 45 degree elbow 63mm to 50mm

what FMIC have you got at the min?

rule of thumb is max efficiency of a stock ct9 is 1 / 1.1 bar

extra lag, some say is minimal, personally I cant say I noticed any difference to be honest

Dont worry about lag, as long as the pipes are not overly long due to a bad run then the overall performance will be better.
