Well i'm nearly sold up on all the glanza parts and its just about ready to be taken to the grave yard, i made nearly double what i predicted which was a bonus.

I did say i wouldn't get something else but i think i will, not quite sure yet but have been looking on ebay and pistonheads and took a liking to the focus rs, not the new shape but the shape before on a 53 plate.

Does anyone know much about them ?

I know its not jap but i fancy a change and no jap cars are shouting out at me at the mo !

I was looking at that earlier, not too keen on it not being 100% the real deal and it's about 7 hour drive just to have a look !

new rs' are gay! they look gay, people who drive them are gay, definatly a car for gay's!

the old one on the other hand is siiiiiick, looks mint without all the flashy plastic 'halfords' body kit and are rather rare on the roads which is another plus :) i imagine being a ford they are quite reliable but i spose depends on wether it has been looked after :)

Couple of my mates have had MK1 focus RS'. One of them had 2. Lol. They are awesome cars. BOV's make them stall though. Always thought that was odd.
Forge actuator, charge cooler, exhaust system and up the boost with Bluefin ECU will see you 300bhp.
Got lovely full leather Sparco interiors. Plus all the creature comforts like AC and Cd player etc. Plus the trademark Ford heated front screen. ;)

the fact they do the new ones in more than 1 colour is good. on the reliable part, i have alot of mates with fords, but reliable is completly wrong fords burn oil an eat headgaskets, not too mention having serious issues with the standard alarm immobiliser systems on alot of vechiles.

theres about 6 old focus rs in an around the local town that i see on a daily basis, only way i can tell there all diffrent is by the type of alloys. rae? really lol?

i think after havin the glanza maybe time too go for some rwd or 4wd, im sure if you had a focus with around 300bhp with mods it wont be half as intresting too drive as the glanza. but as i stated all depends what route you wanna go down....... upgrade, dont downgrade :)

A Focus RS came to one of our drag events about 6 months after they 1st came out. He posed about for an hour then decided to race. After getting blown away 3 times by some not very heavily modded Jap stuff he left. Not that fast by any means, but they do run a Bosch ECU so you can get a decent power increase by just loading a new file onto the stock ecu. A tuning company here that does a lot of VAG tuning works with them, the ecu controls everything including boost so no parts need to be changed for a a power increase.

My mate has had nothing but problems with his mk1 RS. Very rarely gets to drive the thing. I prefer the mk1's, they look much more subtle and easy on the eye. I suppose if you get one that's been well looked after then there shouldn't be a problem :)

lol, you can always get the mk1 resrayed in a one off colour :) my bro has had an st for 3 years or so and bar spinning it in the snow has had no problems what so ever :) it all depends on how its been driven, if you drive like a dweeb expect hefty maintenance bills :)
lol, with regards to the rareity on the roads, there isnt one where i live and cant remember the last time i saw one, but the new rs i see everywhere and to see the cocks the drive them...................... :s

Some interesting replies, I like them because they are getting rarer, I'd love an escort cossie but can't justify the money they go for and I plan to track it a few times a year and would be heart broken if the escort took a knock.

Never had a rwd car before adaman, I was contemplating with a Westfield but again you never know really what your buying and if it has been built well.

I did try a 270bhp Audi s3 the other day and was not that impressed.

westfields, tigers etc great cars, ive driven a westfield on the road, an did a track day in the r500 7.

at first i was a bit nervy as they have a tendancy for the arse end too come out when throwing down the power but once you learn too drive it no issue an a great laugh, only down side is being a 2 seater an some have custom seats for certain sized people.

no matter what you do get dude you will be worried about picking up knocks lol, things in the audi range are more comfy than anything. there was a nice rs4 for sale on here i belive but was 20k. looked mint but again, probally pretty quick but more comfotable than anything, an for that money you would be worried bout knocking it for sure lol

Give that fast road 1 a try then that I posted on eBay it's only£6600 which if it was me I'd take the risk of knocking it on a track!! as for not being genuine does that really matter???? We all know it's still a real cossie! GO ON you know you want to!!
