A chap at work has got one as a toy and he runs a reliable 210bhp
With exhaust
filter
uprated fuel pump
larger fmic
Chip and live map at norris designs at 14-16 psi goes well and sounds awesome

right rs fiesta has better management but smaller turbo, both have same bhp,
but to mod well japs r more tunable for less money, but that engine can probs run from 133 standard to 170 if fuelling is right and mods stated by matchew are used.
dont forget the technology is before the 4e but yh should easily see 170 mate,
and there r loads of rst spares about.

The mans right, we've a white one with just a few tweaks on it, all it needs is chipping and it will be running about 180bhp.

Reliabilty can be a bit touch and go though.

''ford'' and ''reliable'' in the same sentence? surely not! :haha:

ve had a couple of fiesta turbo's and a series 2 turbo in the past.. the engines themselfs arent that bad, the problem is when you buy one 9/10 times its been abused by some ford chav and the rings are on their way out or turbo or something... the gearbox's are weak but theyre ok if you dont go power mad. i rebuilt the engines on mine, the fiesta was running 186bhp on a cosworth 4wd turbo at 17psi, kent cam and forged pistons. the escort was 208bhp.

they go well when played with but nothing compared to a tuned starlet and theyre not the nicest cars to drive, sloppy gear linkage etc but it is a ford and they are cheap :p

the cvh ford engine is a bit harsh and redlining one is like torture, going from a sweet toyota 16v engine to that is a step back in my opinion.

the cvh is one of the most unreliable & difficult engines to get power out of, unless u get some really serious modifications done.. but they suffer alot from hg failure & radiator/waterjacket problems.

none of my ford engines have gone wrong, theyre reliable if taken care of basically not been ragged by the previous owner, if ure gonna buy 1 get 1 wiv very few owners less than 80k mileage, but u need to spend money if u want a reliable 200-230bhp:)
