ive got a forged bottom end and i put a standard head on new headgasket an all that (1.4mm) . i put the engine in put all the plugs on vacuum pipes etc and put new 550cc sard injectors in bare in mind its just on a standard ecu atm , and started her struggled as i left a earth off lol but soon as i attached it and it ran very lumpy tho and loud without an exhaust on didnt help , so i put a new manifold on with decat and stuck a td04 turbo on all the water lines and oil lines but ive not put the front mount on yet but i wouldnt think it would make the car run lumpy but i thought and put the standard injectors back in and ran alot better but as soon as you started the car it would idle at about 1400rpm but 10 seconds later it starts to rev up and down between 400-1000rpm about and struggle to stay running unless you rev it but it splutters threw the rev range , my thoughts maybe the timing but it still revs well sometimes and then not the other times , its had new plugs also and i cleaned the dissy also any ideas please and this was a novel haha:haha:

vacuum leak if its revving up and down like that. get it running right on a standard ecu so you know everything is ok, just dont boost it.

Ye I put standard ones back in and I've looked every where for vacuum leaks but no joy and wen I try to do the ignition timing I can't as it jumps about everywhere is it possible the knock sensor ? , and I've got an emb but not got it mapped yet as I was wanting to run the engine in but it won't run right still :/

map sensor, tps, lambda sensor. coolant temp sensor(thermo housing) do a diagnostic test too

Short terminals Te1 and E1 in the diagnostic port by the battery with a paperclip, turn the ignition on and the engine check light should flash out any codes. Pull the EFI 15amp fuse under the bonnet for at least 30 seconds to clear any stored codes.

Timing needs to be checked with Te1 and E1 short, if the mark still jumps around there's probably an issue with the throttle position sensor. For a temp fix to check and adjust the timing, pull the TPS connector off and short out the bottom 2 pins, this grounds the IDL terminal at the ECU to tell it the throttle is closed.

Right I got an Intercooler on and exhaust on right and set the spark plug gaps to 0.8, took it a wee run and seemed to Hav more pull but still splutters and kinks out , then I took tps plug of then would drive really , not had a chance to do the check yet or the tsp idea yet but I do have a spare tps so if all fails il try that next , il keep use posted of my failings lol

Rite I put another tps on and didn't help , changed the iat sensor as that's Wat it said was broken and cleared the codes and it didn't work either and re did the ignition timing but was still jumping everywhere :/ and clues ?
