it looks like A 98 spec one so it wont fit a 96 bumper

Not worth the hassle. You can modify it to be the same as the 96 spec splitter but then it would be cheaper and better just to buy a 96 spec splitter from start.

What you could do is upgrade to a 98 spec bumper instead?

my mate has a 98 spec splitter on a 97 spec bumper... i'll try and get a pic up soon...

anything can be made fit. depends on your skills and patience.

i have had a GTI-R front splitter on mine and it's currently sporting a Supra one.
