fuel gauge

i have a little problem with the stock fuel gauge (ep82) which is now starting to get annoying

it shows full all the time,
amber light lights up when fuel level is low, but gauge always shows full
all the other instruments work fine

if i unplug the connector to the sender unit at the tank end, it still doesn't move
I am guessing there is something amiss somewhere

any clues

the dial on the dash is the problem mate so.. could be just stuck.. if you remove the face and move the hand it might be ok then.. just make sure not 2 touch anything else in there.. fingerprints and very hard 2 remove

finally got round to looking at this

moved needle with my finger, it easily moved, left it at the bottom
turned ignition on and slowly it moved back up into the full position

i then checked the sender unit in the tank, stuck a multimeter on the connections and moved the float
all seemed ok with resistance changing as the float moved

so....does this look like the actual gauge is at fault ?

are they replaceable or is it a case of replacing the whole cluster ?

havent got the cluster out yet....that was the next step !!

hey mate i have the same problem only mine wont go up and is stuck at the bottom. Done everything you said you did bar check it with a multimeter. Tho when i filled it up there last weekend it moved to just below a quater tank an a few hours later it when back down again
