Fuel Light...

Hey People.

My fuel light has randomly started to come on and off even if i have lots of petrol.

Can anyone think of why this might be??

I havent done any modifications or changes for a while. Its just started to happen by itself.

fuel level sensor?

is your gauge accurate or also reading wrong..? i understand they tap their feed from the same source so the fuel light should not be too off from the gauge, unless we are looking at a problem such as a stuck/faulty fuel level sensor or something similar.

quick question: does it seem to glow slowly on and off or is it more of suddenly-on then suddenly-off..?

mines been on for 4 weeks straight lol doesn seem too wanna go off. the bulb that lights the fuel needle up wasn working so i gave the top of dash a slight bang an they both came on, now that one wont go off lol

My light is glowing on and off. Not a sudden straight on straight off.

Petrol gauge is working fine and accurate.
Thats what makes it strange.

My fuel light stays on, no matter how much fuel I have got in it. Damn annoying!!

wiring short?

possibility of a short behind the dashboard cluster? this would explain the light coming on after danb87 gave it a proper whooping..
