Fuel Pump

Apoligies first of all if this has been answered before, not browsed this site for a long time.

Just wondering if anyone has found a suitable method for an issue i'm having, every couple of month or so i'm having to replace the little bit of fuel hose that connects to the fuel pump and to the little pipe on the fuel pump holder which sits inside the tank, seems that due to it sitting in the tank the fuel is rotting away the hose and it bursts or gets weak and the only time I notice it's happened is when the fuel pressure guage is sitting at 0 or the car struggles to get past 3k rpm.

Anyone else experienced this issue and come up with any solution to solve this?

Cheers

fuel resistant hose

are you using the standard hose? as mine gets run to empty basically every week and i have never had or heard of this before, may just be that you are buying hose that isnt fuel tolerant

It is fuel hose that i'm using, checked this many times when replacing it as I thought it could be the hose i was using.

When the pump was fitted I never used the standard hose I replaced the hose.

Don't get me wrong my car might sit 5 out of 7 days with anything from a quarter of a tank to half a tank but i make a point of running the car every weekend.

that is a very strange one???
do you use fuel additives often? maybe something in that attacks it?

even cheapo fuel hose should last longer than a month or two without rotting through.

is it definitely rotting or is it just splitting? maybe the hose you are using is weaker carb fuel hose so may not be able to stand the higher fuel pressures a fuel injection system has???

Never use and additives.

When I replace the hose it's usually all split and it feels really soft and sticky like tar and it falls apart when you touch it.

It is pretty weird, will see what happens with the new bit hose.
