funny noise ober 3k revs .

Hi folks , recently bought my first glanza and not clued up on them yet , had a hunt for any other topic but none I can see are related to my issue.

I started the car up this morning and as soon as I went over 3000 rpm it sounded different . A high pitched kind of shap rattle noise started when spooling . The car still dives as usual with no lack of power etc . it just sounds different when i bring my foot off the clutch . The cars been mapped to 0.7 with jam ecu and hks actuator and exhaust . I had a quick look under the bonnet but nothing looks out of place from what I can see .

any help/hunts greatly appreciated sorry for the crap explination .

does it make the noise all the time..? and only at/after 3k revs..?

It comes in once I hit 3k revs then stays on . I just found a loose manifold bolt so hopefully that is the problem , I can't get into tighten it up so I'l take it to work with me on thurs , any other suggestions to what it could be ?

Could be heat shields also loose on the exhaust (if it stil has them?) And you def want to check all the mani bolts.

The heat shield has been removed for an aftermarket stainless mani . Took the car out there and I can only describe the noise as a screaming kind of air intake sound . I just hope the turbo isn't on it's way out .

Sounds like a boost or exhaust leak, check all the joiners on the inter-cooler and check around the flanges on the manifold/downpipe for leaks,

Have you good the boost gauge? See if it's boost related? Well could be boost leak like already mentioned or was the filter relocated to the front? That could make funny noise as well -)
