i'm guessing the 4E-FTE motor is a GDI, right..? why is it then that some cars desperately advertise themselves as direct injection..? like the pajero io.. i ask because the pajero makes an interesting ticking sound on idle and light throttle..

The injectors are on the head, but not in the chamber.
The are aiming to the back of the intake valves.

No we can't

No even close, but that doesn't mean that it's a bad engine...
GDI is one way to do things...there are other too...

Direct injection is hugely successfull.

Just not the Mitsu type GDI. Look around, all VW/AUDI/SKODA/SEAT are direct. New Toyota FT86 is too...

The older Renault IDE engines were pissh lol Nissan use di as well
