gearbox help

Iv got glanza gearbox in the shead it doesnt have any gearbox oil in the box will the box get damaged or would it seized might be a stupid question but just want to make sure..

There will always be a layer of oil keeping it lubricated isit covered so no bits of shit can get in it?

will be fine mate had a gearbox sat in the cupboard for 16 months still worked fine after. just keep it covered and off the floor.

Found thanks to google

Drain the old oil and put in fresh. plug up the axle holes with some rag.
Clean the exterior as much as possible to remove corrosion and rust on the
steel parts and road dirt, then spray it with some sort of anti-corrosion
product that leaves a film. Then wrap the whole lot up in plastic and seal
with duct tape.
