Gerabox gone?

Hi all. I was driving down the motorway today - gearing down when all of sudden my gear lever doesnt go into any gears - infact it feels like there aren't any gears for the lever to connect with - its just sort of loose? Is the box gone? It was in 4th when it happened and through sheer luck I managed to get the car all the way home in that one gear! Clutch seems fine..

Ya, I was thinking (/hoping!) that. Is it just a case of rip of the cowling around the base of the lever and have a lookseye? Like there isnt any sounds coming from the box or anything like that.

Ive blown a box before and was stuck in 3rd and have driven a few with the same problem.. You could very well have blown the box but like said it could possibly be the linkage.. Check the linkages on teh gear box itself too not just under the gaiter around the base.

also worth checking your mounts if they are not up to scratch then it can also affect selecting gears.
My gearbox kept popping out of 5th and it was due to a dodgy mount!
No issues since it was changed.
