Glanza Insurance, Help!

Hi folks, first post on here! Been browsing the forum for a few days and came accross this area of the forum, seemed fitting for a little dilemma I am having! I've just purchased a 96 Glanza V and insured it with Elephant, but I've insured it as a Turbo GT (Import).. Now I didn't actually realise at the time (Having only looked at Glanzas) that there actually was a Turbo GT, the EP82/85 model.. I assumed Turbo GT would be the correct model choice for a Glanza V, however having seen that they list the Glanza S and not the V has made me think otherwise! They don't actually list the Glanza V though, just the S..

Question is, is my policy legiti or should I be ringing them first thing to clarify this? I almost don't want to rock the boat, but obviously if anything happened..

Any help is much appreciated!

Sky insurance also insures a Glanza as GT turbo.

Don't see why this would be any problem.

Just thought I'd post up and let anyone else know who are curious about this.. I spoke to Elephant tonight and they confirmed that my car is registered correctly, I still can't understand how but she said that they cross referenced the model with there system and it confirmed that it was right.. So if they say its right, thats all I care about. :)

Thanks for the input!

^ x2, last thing you want is an accident and them not paying out because it's insured as a GT, how long you had the policy? could you cancel through the cooling off period or what ever it's called and try somebody else?

I'm insured with Bell.co.uk, which is a sister company of Elephant. On my insurance certificate it also says "Starlet GT Turbo (Import)" and not "Glanza"
When i first took out this insurance i went through all this business you are going through now.
All that needs to be done is to clarify with the insurance company that they know it is a Glanza even if it says GT Turbo on your insurance cert.
You can expalin to them the difference/similarities and give them the VIN number if you want. They have the Reg No' already so they know what car it is.
I have had someone go into me and made a claim and had the work done with no problems. Been insured with them for 3 years now and it still says GT Turbo on the paperwork. I wouldnt worry if you have given them all the info you can and they are happy with it.

sorry to bust your bubble, when i spoke to one of the managers for elephant, if it aint a GT it aint insured.

They do NOT insure Grey imports, which a glanza is, and whoever sold you the policy is wrong, and you are NOT insured.

I drove 300miles to pick up my glanza, and when i went to insure it they wouldnt let me. I had to insure it as a GT as a temporary measure to get it home and then cancel it the next day and garage it until i sorted out insurance.

No, we insure the Glanza as a Glanza.

Then for some absurd reason it's down as a GT turbo. This wasn't a problem as the woman on the phone said she doesn't have the Glanza option, but will put it down as a GT turbo with a note attached saying Glanza.

Now if your telling me they NOW insure Glanzas as Glanzas I better get a revised certificate.

PM me, I did update you guys in our Sky Insurance section to say that we now have the Glanza on our system and for anyone with the incorrect model to contact me to get revised documents. This was months ago.

I will need your full name, postocde and vehicle registration number.

Thanks

Oh dear....I have just called up Elephant and spoke to one of their agents and they say they don't insure the Glanza V.

For those who have taken out polices under car model Starlet GT Turbo for their V has an insurance certificate that will not qualify and must contact Elephant right away!

Please can all members check this detail and not make this mistake!
