Had some Gt rear disc installed on my EP70 some years back. I had to get a metal sleeve installed in the hub so i could use the ep70 bearing. I had to do this because the GT bearing was to big for the EP70 back arm. Can anyone tell me if EP71 work the GT disc with out this setup

No will not without the sleeves. But you have two opportunitys. First to use all the gt back axle. And second to find the same conical bearing with smaller inner diametre and keep the ep70/71 back axle.

ok thanks but in think the Gt back axle is shorter than the EP70 so the wheel rub on the body, do you know if this is true?

GT (ep82) back axle is wider and the trailing arms are longer than the ep70 one. i have done this conversion and just used the bearings complete from the GT axle (inner and outer), and they fit perfect. i cant see where you are having a problem here
