Getting very frustrated at my interior light!the fuse is fine the bulb appears fine but no light :( iv searched on here for an answer but no luck!

Im going to get a new bulb tomorow so hopefully that works. Does it matter what way it goes in?

Also how does the earth work on this? my voltmeter shows power on both wires on connecter so im guesing one is door power and other is main power?

Sorry to sound like a noob but im here to learn :)

Any help be appreciated
Thanks

its a common problem. the connections on these light units get bad over time as they are only riveted together. it can also be an issue with the ground/earth connection (one of the screws that holds it to the roof) or the connection of the little ball bearing on the switch for the light itself.

I have fixed many of mine by just tapping all the rivets with a punch and hammer (not too hard) and it will improve the connection and work. you can work your way through the circuit with a multimeter to see where the power is lost if you want to do it that way.

I had the same problem with mine and it was the door sensors that were dirty, I took the sensor apart on both sides and wire brushed the contacts on them and on the light unit itself and has been working fine for over a year now

if he has power on both connectors then the door switches are fine (assuming they turn the power off on one of the wires when the doors are closed).
if the interior light doesn't work at all its almost always the connections in the unit itself.
