so back on topic lol,

where do you mount the left lap belt?

lol sorry mate.

I have aftermarket seat rails so theres a fitting where the origanal seat belt would fit so fitted it there.
Not sure if you could remove the standard seat belts fitting to fit the harness

i cant see a safe way of mountting it to my seat rail, using the bottom half of the original runner with custom bits for the seat mount.

would it be safe to drill in to the tunnel and use a mounting plate on the other side?

Mine came over from Japan like that. It has the eyebolt with a spreader plate.

there is a hole in the tunnel already, thats where my seatbelt mounts in the mk1, so im assuming the hole is still there, might just be plugged for the later spec gt's.

Putting both shoulder straps into one mounting point is just daft.
The lap belts are easy, one in the stadard point and drill and plate the other in the exhaust tunnel.

As per the MSA Blue book, page 166 of the book, part 2.1 onwards, also ref page 189 of the book for a diagram.
If the gouverning body of motorsport in the Uk deems that safe, that will do everybody in the UK regardless of what tom, dick or harry tells them.

couldnt see anywhere safer than a cusco strut brace for the shoulder straps, with out a specalised brace or rollcage

Strut braces were never designed to take the strains in that plane. hence there a stabalizer which works against itself.

Acceptable is better than nothing ;)

Just remember whoever makes these bars will have to mount it somewhere, not alot of points in the rear of these biscuit tins.... Will also have to go through testing i would have thought
