Having problems with Mrturbo efi

Today were trying to set up the car so tomorrow it can be driven to be set on the rollers but the ecu is going crazy! The base program for a new box the car start but doesnt rev then he was trying to add fuel but when it decide the car switch off and doesnt start ! It is running very rich at idling and even tough he said he put the fuel setting down it still was smoking black (too rich) and the engine sound too wild too! We even tried a map from another mrturbo ecu which another gt engine is running on and it doesnt work with the map!Then it didnt fire up so we changed ecu and it fired up again and was staying ideling at least ! so i was thinking 2 things
1. The injectors on this engine have been changed to bigger ones (and that would explain the too rich and black smoke)
2. the engine is a modified one and so it needs a complete different map to the other gt engine.

Want your opinion on this guys.

u need to use low impedence injectors i had the seam prob with a mr turbo. i was using n/a injectors (green) i think there low but the turbo ones are high as it would not run at all rite with them so i used the n/a ones

But it run right for some time then flood the plugs then start missing goes off then take a while to start ,we even switched to a slightly hotter plugs which solved the prob temporally but by time went bad too !
Lets say that what you said is the problem then why the other engine (which thesame garage doing my conversion did) worked well with the mrturbo ecu? as they should have had thesame problems (me think )

ask what injectors were in the other car just incase they over looked it . im sure thats ur problem . when i tryed with the high impedence injectors i could not trim the fuel at all ran all over the place try using lows out of a 4agze or a pluser gtir

did you set the Ign division to 2? as thats what my tuner just told me when i told him what you told me

Yes.

Today took car to be set on the dyno and at least it got running and was doing 82Kw at the wheels but still have problems with the ecu as its messing up some of the program when i turn off and on the ignition (so car is at another garage now!)

The have went all secret on us, bloddy foreingers lol.

Chris was that the ECU where you had a problem getting a coil signal with, and had to wire a live into the coil directly?

hi mate sorry about not writing in english- i recently bought a 4efte with mr turbo installed already and the guy i was talking to apparently knows some history on the car ,because mapping a mr turbo doesn't seem an easy task
seems like the previous owner of my car had trouble with the coil because the coil is changed to an older version of starlet and doesn't have an igniter instead it has the oldschool coil !

No the problem was with the unit itself... switching the car off and the map would be lost. the reason theres an oldskool coil is that felulu used to fit the mr turbo with that coil and if you notice even the distributor... its off another car.. just cos its easyer for him lol.

i have some pics of your enginge bay just a few days after it was put in somewhere...

That ECU is not bad at all.. but not easy to map etc.. has some good features too..
