Head bolt!

I am still in the process of removing my head to replace head gasket, not had too much recently so have done bit by bit.
I have everything out now, I am just undoing the head bolts.
When I came to undo them they were all fairly loose, should that worry me?
Typically the most inaccessable one is jammed in and almost rounded off. Anyone got any ideas or pointers that could help me remove this?

They should all be torqued to 44nm then another 90 degrees. I would not say they feel loose when you take them off, I always think they feel like they are going to strip when they start to move lol.

If you have rounded the splines of the bolt head, you can try jamming the tool back in with a piece of cloth wrapped around the head of the spline tool.

If that does not work you will have to drill the head off the bolt, using a drill about 12 or 13mm in diameter. Put a cloth around where you are drilling to stop the swarf going everywhere. Once the head is off the bolt you can lift the head off and the rest of the bolt should screw out by hand. Give the head a good clean when you are done, to make sure there is no swarf left in it.
