Turbo water pipes broke and my water pissed out while driving at night I did not realise as there was no smoke and my temperature connector has broke on the side of my engine so it was not reading, my car overheated pretty badly I think, I changed my turbo waterlines and my filled up with water, realised my car was over heating again due to thermostat failure.. Took it out for now and I'm pretty sure it's still over heating, done compression test and it's 140-145-145 cylinders and 150 on one, there is grey gunk at the top of my oil cap, can a headgasket go and the compression test still be ok? Also when engine is running without rad cap on it seems to bubble and frough comes up a bit.. Any help appreciated

Compression test rarely shows up a headgasket failure if its minimal. Does sound like yours may have gone.

Change the oil and make sure the cooling system is topped up and bled. Keep an eye on it and go from there!

A stock angine you want to look for around 170. But anything as low as 150 is fine. Most important is they are all equal.

^this. Equal is more inportant than how high. Assuming its not like 90 or something

^^^ judging by the results up there he has a rather tired engine or some one may have installed a aftermarket head gasket...

just done new rings in mine and i am dead flat once run in at 175psi across the board. get a leak down test done to determine where the leak is coming from.

A leak down test is where compressed air is forced into the cylinder through the spark plug hole, then you listen out for any leaks. Ie if you hear the air at the exhaust tail pipe, you have a poor seating exhaust valve in that cylinder, etc.

You need a leak down tester and an air compressor. Take it to a garage. They should be able to do it and tell you if you don't have one
