headunit installation problems....

ok so i have spent the last 4 and a half hours getting all the wiring looking nice and crimping on bullet connectors, i tested it, worked fine. I had got the speaker wires mixed up, no biggie, just swapped them around. Finished off cleaning up wires and crimping, all speakers etc connected. Go to test it out, Head unit display pops up just like normal and starts playing the radio, but no sound at all..............

What could be the problem??

Thanks

If the headunit is coming on it could be
1. mute on the headunit (rtfm)
2. speaker connection do u have a second speaker you can connect directly ?
3. speaker as above

my 2 cents any ways. damn ya kieran ;)

Doesn't matter about the order they should still make sound,if you got the + and - wrong it doesn't matter either it will still make sound but bad quality. Mute button?

even if your speaker wires mixed up, meanin pos to neg and neg to pos on speakers themselves it should still produce sound from the speakers. maybe a setting on head unit or somewhere a plug not in right. Some headunits have a fuse for the channel running to the speakers.

good luck ;-)

Is the wiring loom plugged in correctly and the back of the unit? i had a problem like this before turned out the amp in the stereo was blown.
