HKS Actuator setting advice?.....

Hi guys,

just a quick question about the HKS actuator i got recently from jonny_boi on here.
He has told me its set to 1BAR, but i am currently only running a 0.8BAR set up.

Will i need to adjust the actuator when i fit it to 0.8bar? or will my HKS EVC keep the boost levels to the right pressure?

Cheers for any help

you'll have to lengthen the actuator arm to get it back to below .8
The boost controller cant run below what the actuator set to

Thats cool mate, at least now i wont get my car going bang when i fit it!

So lenghtening the arm will decrease boost pressure? Is there a specific amount of turns per 0.1bar pressure? or is it just car dependant and having a little play with the boost controller off?

Cheers

yeah thats right just give it say 2 turns and see whats it boosting to and go from there until you get the right pressure

Yeah as said its a suck and see sort of thing. Way i did it was fit actuator left side, then adjust the arm until you had to just pull on it a tiny bit to fit it to the wastegate arm, this gave me like 0.65 so turn by turn made it shorter to get more boost

There used to be a guide to fitting a HKS actuator, with the measurments from the actuator body to the centre of the pin.

I cant seem to find it but there is a direct relation from actuator arm length (in MM) to boost.

I'm sure someone will still have the guide. I measured the one i fitted on the last GT with a steel rule, and it was bang on 0.8Bar.

I'll try to dig it up again, it's not trial and error, there are proven measurments.

Thanks for the help guys,

Il have a look at the link and see if i can measure it up correctly! il prob end up boosting 80bar rather than 0.8bar knowing my measurements!! haha

Cheers
