HKS Turbo Timer?

Looking to buy a birthday present for my boyfriend and I'm sick of sitting in his car waiting for it to cool down, he recently explained a Turbo Timer to me, what an amazing invention!
But my question is, how good is the HKS Turbo Timer? I know there are loads and all vary in price, but could someone just let me know which is prefered.
My boyfriend drives a Starlet GT Turbo ep82, don't know if thats needed when buying a Turbo Timer.
Also, when I was looking at them online, it mentioned a harness would make installation of the Timer easier.
Any advice?
