nice goathead! did you start at the turbo flange or the head flange? i made a log style manifold for my mx5 but ive got all the bits sitting in the garage to make a new tubular top mount style...

i made the 4into1 collector then bolted the head flange to the head, i started from the head flange and made runner 1 and 4 then tacked the 4into1 collector on so that i could possition the turbo flange, then took the mani off and made runner 2 and 3. when i was happy with the way it looked i cut the taks of at the collector and head flange so i was left with four runners and a collector then fully welded the runners and collector. then i bolted the head flange down to stop the flange from warping, welded the runners to the flange and welded the collector to the other side of the runners.

jake it fits really well, i rotated the td04 flange so it doesnt hit the filter have it fitted but has to come off again to get the flanges faced, can get you a photo of it fitted if you want.

niceone, i learnt the had way about not bolting the flanges down during welding lol my first manifold was awesome but when i fitted it was badly warped. 2nd one was spoton.

good work that looks ace, where did you buy your pipes? i got mine from a company called ipm fitting at only £1.80 per 90 deg bend sch40! bargains

i bought the 90 bends of a company called BSS in belfast, bought 14 and cost me £48 so 3.42 a bend dear enought, you got yours for a good price, fair play.

well done yea be great to see a picture of that bad boy on the engine ;)

jake i'll upload a picture sometime today hope you like what you see.

nice!
maybe put a brace across the head flange and the turbo flange?, It seems to prevent cracking on alot of mani's

I suppose you could do any flange you wanted , td04 / t28 . even v/band ! :) and ext. wastegate if you wanted, cant beat making your own parts.. respect..

yes im going to brace the mani and downpipe to be on the safe side, its a better feeling knowing you made the parts for your own car and yes you could weld any flange for the specific turbo being used and wouldn't be hard turning it into ex wastegate.
thanks to everyone for the support and good comments, much appreciated.
