okay as the title says, got a nitro RC car with the glow plug thingy that I assunme I put in the top, i also have starter motor but have no idea where i put it, its not like a normal pull start/drill starter, it almost looks like a slightly smaller normal car starter, any help would be grand, cheers.

nah no instructions and I cant find a link to any site that does them with a starter motor, only a site to buy a starter lol, its a right pain, It turns over when I turn the wheel but i guess its unlikely id have to take the wheel off to get it started ?

As stated, you need a glowstarter for it, there not dear, about £5 off ebay. Id recommend spending abit more on one tho, my mate bought a £5 one and its a ba*tard to start.

I have 2 glow starters with it, one rechargable and the other battery operated, Its the actual motor i have no idea about.

If its a large starter box, you'll have to sit the car on top of it, and it will spin the flywheel through the bottom of the chassis, as you hold it down on the starter.

Any pics of your starter unit?

exactly as above but can ya put up a picture of the car mate showing engine... my pull start broke and there was a bolt at the end of the engine at the back and i started mine there... might need a roller starter tho as said above and if its brand new run it rich for awhile then tune it a bit with the fuel mixture screw

Thanks guys that makes sence, It's second hand but does need a tune, I think I need to get some nitro aswell as its extremely low at the moment + I think I know what to do, will post pics of the starter when I get home.

As you say I think you may be right in regards to putting the car on the starter, and then spinning it, so do I need to push it down to the floor?

Basically you pop the cog exposed under the chassis onto the main wheel of the starter box. it has a pressure sensor when you push it down which makes the starter box spin. it should connect to a battery (generally car one). you will need a glow starter aswell. it may be worth taking the glow plug out to check the core to see if its working correctly. could also be worth blowing a bit of fuel into the engine to help start it.

I have somme nitro race fuel spanking and unopened if you are nearby chap. aswell as a glow start and a million other bits and bobs.
Lemme know if you need help with anything else mate?

Cheers for that buddy, real good of you, not too sure how far away you are :( I think I've got the hang of it now (got a glow starter with an ac adaptor to charge it which looks fairly new) any special tool to get the plug out or anything?

cheers Bud

yeh there is a tool to get it out, like a 4 prong multitool. The same one you get the wheel bolts off with. All you need to do is take the plug out and put it in the glow starter(make sure its charged obv) and the plugs coil should heat up and go orange. If it doesnt, just replace the glow plug. They are pretty cheap. Do you know how to stop the car aswell? Finger over the exhaust pipe and block the gases escaping. What car is it mate? I live in surrey, how close are you?

Cheers mate and good luck with the mini motor!

Cheers buddy, not exactly sure what car it is, but it's running and os max 21 engine i believe, I'll have to pick up that multi tool (It's a bit of an old and mucky car) but will do the job thanks for telling me how to stop it lol, I'd be on here asking while it's running or something stupid, I'm in Croydon so not sure how far away you are lol =]

is theres posts on the chassis where the shell goes onto.. i just measured across the the posts and got a shell that fits really.. i nearly always leave the shell off tho for tuning.. the os engine are very good.. i use them on the planes aswell..these babies scream.. as for the glow plug i think its a 8mm or 9mm bolt.. small socket will get it out...
