how to bleed a radiator

Hi got a new radiator but not shore how to bleed it, or how much water and coolant to fill the car up with and what coolant to buy.

fill your rad up with coolent ,turn the car on and let it run ,this may take 20 minutes ,wait till the rad fan comes on ,once it does retop the rad with coolent and you should be sorted with no airlocks,dont use water mate buy proper coolent

whats the best coolent to use

I think when you're draining it, you're meant to have the heater matrix set in a certain position, but can't remember what, or even if that's true these days! Halfords will sell some coolant, you just mix it with water

id go for toyota coolant mate. 20 quid for 5 litres. be better than some halfords stuff

Just to confirm he means fill up the radiator and let the car run with the radiator cap OFF, youll see it bubbling at the top where the air is getting out .

Ye have the heater in the hot position

Just to confirm he means fill up the radiator and let the car run with the radiator cap OFF, youll see it bubbling at the top where the air is getting out .
