so its not a subaru rex

Its a Suzuki Alto Works.

The most popular of the turbo kei cars is the Daihatsu Mira Avanzato TRXX/R4. Different engines available. They are switchable 2WD and 4WD.

Somebody in the UK raced a rally version of the Avanzato, theres a video on youtube of it being rolled iirc.

As has already been mentioned by glanza.co.uk; the Mitsubishi Dangan is VERY rare.

I had the opportunity to buy a Mira Avanzato TRXX R4 off ebay a couple of years ago but after a lot of research I was put off.

Gearboxes on these cars are VERY weak and run into problems by 30k beleive it or not. Also parts are very hard to get a hold of unless you speak/understand japanese. Adding to that, there are not many performance parts available. I tried Daihatsu main dealer and they thought i was talking about the Charade GTTI and said they could not get me parts for the Mira Avanzato.

Also having only a 660cc engine they run out of steam at around 72+mph, they are literally screaming their nuts off. Not really ideal for the motorway.

There have been many on ebay over the past years. Most where dogs or ex race cars but I did have my eye on a mint one. It was overpriced and of course sat for over a month. I would of had it had i not been put off.

If a reliable parts source was found i'd have one asap just for fun. Incredible wee cars.

Have seen these a few times in Dublin. They look interesting but always thought they were just a step too small. I dont think I would be in to a car that looked even smaller than an EP.
