Well what can i say?
i first used iains services a few years ago on my first starlet when he changed my turbo as mine had the blades chewed, and again when he helped me fit me FMIC outside his house and his dad took me and my partner to the nearest shops for a wonder :) (also a great guy).
I then sold my starlet and 2 years later ive bought another and i instantly got in touch with iain (look in the welcome section as his immediate response was offering his assistance when i need it).
The starlet i've bought had a few issues (actually a list of things that iain can verify! lol), so i pm'd him with all the things i needed done and he gave me a price, one of which i wouldnt knock back because i know how good he is and his knowledge is second to non! ANYWAY!
we arranged a day for me to take my car over to a place arranged, i confirmed what i wanted done and checked and then i had a good chat with him about random stuff( he's very down to earth and one of the nicest guys you can meet), he kept me up to date with all his findings and with every question i asked he has an answer and or a solution.
So iain has had my gearbox refurbed, checked my clutch, bled my clutch, renewed my gearbox oil, changed my motor oil, changed my coolent, done a compression test, changed my spark plugs, fixed some mountings on the chassis and also done other things they found going along the way without hesitation.

So basically iain and his dad are a great team and i've told him this.
I'm already arranging taking my car back for more work to be done as i trust every word they say without doubt and you know its not all money money money, they actually care! what more do you want?

Iain mate i'll be in touch and sorry for the long winded story folks!

Im really happy that your satisfied with my service and also returned for a second time! Your GT just needed some love and attention spent on it to iron out alot of small issues while your box was getting refurbed. I treat every car i get like its my own and i hope it shows, ill see you on Monday again mate!

Thanks a lot Iain, items received today!

I will definitely come back for more very soon mate. Great man to deal with :) thanks again

Went to Ian last Monday to have my WEPR Tdo4 setup fitted, put the car in on the Monday morning around 10am and had a call to say it was ready to go by 6 the following night. Ian even offered to run me to and pick me up from the train station when i was coming up as i had a bit of difficulty with organizing a lift.

Few snags with fitting the kit such as oil return to the turbo line snapped, he then went to Toyota and ordered a new one at no extra charge, brackets for fmic had to be drilled professionally as the brackets were killing his drill bits, again done at no extra charge to me, catch can lines were too short, ian used some of his own stuff at no extra charge to me and the boost gauge line was very brittle and started to fall apart at the ends when it was being reconnected again ian supplied some of his own stuff at no extra charge. All these little things make for a great service and rather than tell me oh YOU have to buy this and that Ian took the initiative and bought them from his own pocket.

Upon dropping the car off and when i picked it up we had a god chin wag and for someone i had only spoke to on this we were talking for ages, the only reason the conversation stopped was because i could not wait to get in the car to see what it was like... and Ian's neighbor was getting a bit wound up that my car was sitting ticking over not very quietly which is fair enough.

Ian said if i had any problems what so ever to come straight back up for them to be rectified although no problems have occurred apart from the hose going from the rad to the block is really close to the screamer and i have to wrap the hose in heat proof material but this has nothing to do with Ian this is a problem with the kit itself and could not be fitted any other way, although Ian even reccomended what to do with regards to new pipeing.

Ian and his dad are really nice guys very helpful and Ian keeps you up to date with pictures and sit rep's of your cars progress which i really like as one of my pet hates when your car is having something done is not having a clue about what is happening with it .

Overall Ian and his dad have done a fantastic job and at a third of the price i was originally quote by a reputable Scottish car tuner. So once again mate thanks again for all the hard work put into my car it is running spot on, ill be back up again some for some more work for you and i hope to see you at crail next time its on, mabey even have ourselfs a little race :p

Take it easy mate thanks again to you and your dad !

WOW, thanks alot Chris for all the kind words!

It was an absolute pleasure meeting you and having the opportunity to work on such a fantastic looking and mint Glanza! The condition of your car is truely fantastic and when we started to take all the old parts off we slowly realised that the majority of all the parts had never been off since the car probally left the factory in 1998.

The main reason we got ourselves into this line of work is due the consistant overpricing of labour for parts to get fitted to these cars and as you found out by a different company, i couldnt almost believe my ears when you said i was £450 cheaper!!!

I was only happy to help by fitting some of our own parts for no extra charge, last thing i was going to do was leave you in a situation where the job was unfinished and luckily we have a pretty big collection of spare hoses etc to help you out! The Oil return is always an issue trying to get it off with ripping it is difficult! Unfortunately with the heat and length of time it was fitted it was only going to do that, again Toyota sorted us out with a superb service and managed to get us for the very next day!

Here are some pictures for you buddy with the before during and after process:

I always try to keep everyone as up-to-date as possible and every issue we ran into i always like to make you aware first of all before going ahead and assuming anything :).

Your Glanza is probally one of the best ive seen and had the pleasure of driving also! I would be more than happy to work on it again buddy :).

Yet again Iain and his dad have done it again!

time and time again i keep returning to iain@CRD for more and more work because they have given me absolutley no reason not to return or have any hesitation in giving them work.

so recently i gave Iain my car again to complete a list of work in less than a week as he is working shifts etc and the weather has been a nightmare!

I asked Iain to bleed and change my brake fluid, weld my manifold (if he had time), sort a brake noise, do an engine health check, change fuel filter, fit my new hybrid, supply and fit TB Kit, and fit 2 aux belt plus do an overall car check.

while doing the work iain told me that the nipple had been snapped on one of the calipers and the other one was solid and he didnt want to force it but the back was done fine so because he couldn't do the brakes properly he change my clutch fluid as it was horrible FOC just because he couldn't do 100% of a task, now how can you better that for customer service?
the hybrid which should have been a fairly easy swap over ended up taking near 5 Hours of their time to get everything on and secure because of pipe issues etc (and he didnt even alter our agreed price limit!)

We then had some issues regarding boost when i went to pick the car up and even in the freezing rain both Iain and his dad spent another half hour at least making changes and testing to get the car how i wanted it!
i was also told the water pump bearing was making a noise and WD40 was used to try and battle it which it did, again the little things that make all the difference.

I wont mention the price we agreed but needless to say im yet again a very happy customer and urge absolutely anyone who needs someone they can completely rely on to get in touch with Iain and i promise within 5 mins of talking to him you will understand what i mean.

Sorry again for the long post.

thanks again to iain and his dad for a top notch service.

Thanks alot for the feedback Martyn.

Glad to have worked on your Starlet again and tick most of the tasks off your list. As always with these little cars issues are always encountered due to age but we got there in the end.

As you know i always communicate the best that i can with every customer to agree the next best course of action and ensure they are up-to date with any progress/set backs. It can be tough with the shift work that i do but when the work your doing is a hobbie/passion your always more than willing to dedicate any spare you have.

Thanks for returning also Martyn.
