Ice interference issue

Hi,

I'm generally knowledgeable when it comes to car audio but I can't for the life of me work out why I'm getting quite bad interference through my speakers?

It keeps tripping out one of my amps and the other plays but with this ridiculous inference!! Now I've taken it all apart to check my wires are all ok, I've made sure that power cable does not come into contact with RCA's or other speaker cables etc and still stumped...

I've checked under bonnet earths too and still I find this problem?! Any idea's before I loose my mind?? lol

have you made sure to run the power cable and remote cable from the oposite side of the car to the rca's as not doing this will cause that problem.
and the amp tripping out will be from not having a strong enough earth

yeah I've got remote and power completely opposite to RCA's and both my amps are earthed to the same point so this is why I just don't get it? My alternator has just died completely so this might have something to do with it in some aspect :S

ah wait a minute, is your bettery flat after the car sits a while?
if so have you connected the remote to a constant live by mistake, this would cause he amp to trip, and the battery to drain because the amp is constantly powered

no it isn't, like I said I am not a novice with car audio which is why this problem is so frustrating to me.. I'm now thinking maybe the earth rods inside the headunit may have gone and as for the amp it still puzzles me

what do you have the gain set at on the amp? also where have you got the amp earthed to?

gain on the amp which works is halfway, gain on amp which trips out is minimal just under a quarter and both amps are earthed direct to chassis (top rear mount which I sanded down and cleaned with white spirits to remove all dirt)

hmm ok, what way isthe power supply running to the amps, two seperate feeds or in line? if you were to swap the amps round would the same one trip or would it switch? also as for the interference, might be worth checking no earth straps have come off in the engine bay.
